“My name is Holly Beasley and I am currently a 24 year old living with Cystic Fibrosis. I attended my dream school, The University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill and received my Bachelor’s degree in Biology as well as a minor in Health and Society. I now work for a pharmaceutical company and assist in the start up of clinical trials. I also worked as a restaurant server in the evenings for the majority of the last year. I’ve been fortunate since college to be in good health after participating in the US clinical trial for Trikafta. This life changing drug allowed me to work two jobs and maintain my personal life outside of that which is something I was unsure if I’d be able to do while in college because of my disease progression, so I dedicated my career to clinical research. Outside of my job, I enjoy weight lifting, reading, writing, cooking, and being active outdoors. I live with my small dog who is a good buddy to pair with my love for getting out in the sunshine.
I’ve also recently started traveling more which is a passion of mine I can now pursue with more ease.
I left the country for the first time in 2022. I am excited to continue living life to the fullest and growing in my career which
my education and those who supported it has allowed
me to do.

Alex Killian is a sophomore and member of the Campus Honors Program at the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign. He has been part of the University Chorus under Dr. Andy Bruhn for the past two years and joined the UIUC climbing club this past year and has enjoyed climbing with them. He is studying astronomy and hopes to use his degree to educate people on the world beyond our own and be part of the effort to explore the universe. Since the age of six, Alex has performed in his local community theater, ACT, and he spent the summer of 2022 volunteering as assistant director for ACT’s productions of Disney Frozen Kids and High School Musical, Jr.”
